Light-hearted and thoughtful, a fun and funny exploration of many aspects of wine-making

I LOVE this book. It's straight from the author's wine-loving heart to mine. Every page is a little meditation, but a playful, light-hearted one. It's the perfect excuse to expand my collection of Copic markers into beautiful jewel tones in the green-ish yellow and blue-ish red zones, and a great way to spread the joy of coloring to my wine-loving friends and family. The beer-drinkers will be happy with Bevmo gift cards, as usual. If you're obsessed with coloring inside the lines, you might find yourself challenged when you find encounter things like open-ended spiral motifs. I did, at first, but it's liberating to admit there's no "right" way to do it. Sometimes I trace the line with a thick pen, and sometimes I fill it in and let it spill out at the end like a spray. It's a reminder that lots of great stuff in life happens outside the lines. I'm trying to decide which pages I could list as faves...I love the garden hoses...I used to work at a plant nursery, and those heavy garden hoses became a major players in my work days. Seeing that image, I knew the author's wine expertise comes from more than just swirling and swishing. All in all, a winner. I hope it marks the start of a series!

Drinking while mindful
By Rossa Forbes on August 2, 2016
Confession: I know nothing about wine; I’m one of those uncultured rubes who just knows what I like. I occasionally tell myself that I should become more au courant in the wine department in order to not feel insecure about what I’m buying. I tend to buy dry reds or dry whites, and that’s the extent of my knowledge. If it’s dry, I’ll take it. Absolutely pathetic. I do know Crémant from Champagne, however.
Imagine my delight to find a low stress way to learn more about wine. Who would have thought it would be a coloring book? Bravo Zelda! (BTW: Run your finger over the cover. It feels “waxy” like a crayon.)
One of my favorite coloring pages tells me to “Drink mindfully . . . wine is a meditation tool”
I’m absorbing (pun intended) that one of the messages is to slow down and think about it, don’t gulp.
Some of the illustrations are puzzling, I’m guessing deliberately so in order to add more mindfulness to the exercise. “Riesling” shows trucks, cars, and cyclists going up a mountain. There’s sun on one side of the mountain, and rain on the other. On the bottom right of the picture a fish jumps out of a river. I immediately thought of the Alsace region of France where riesling is grown: to the east the Vosges mountains and to the west, the Rhine River.
This illustration sent me to my search engine: “at ‘véraison’, red grapes turn all shades of yellows greens reds pinks purples” Véraison means “the onset of ripening.” I shall throw that gem around at my next party.
I’m sold. This delightful and informative book would make a great hostess gift in addition to that bottle of wine. Will that be a prosecco or a Crémant?

Color and Sip!

Received this coloring book as a gift from a new friend. Coloring is in. Wine is one of my passions so this was a perfect gift. Love it!

given that I do enjoy relaxing with a glass or two of wine
By Jen S - Published on Amazon.com April 28 2016
I must admit that I’ve not quite got swept up in the new fad of adult colouring books, although I have indulged in a couple and admit that there is something therapeutic about sitting down and forgetting you are an adult for a while with a bunch of coloured pencils. In saying that however, “colouring in” isn’t necessarily a restful exercise if you happen to be a perfectionist – you have no idea how stressful it can be choosing the right colour and making certain you never go out of the lines!!!
So, given that I do enjoy relaxing with a glass or two of wine, when the opportunity came to combine my love of drinking wine with a colouring book on wine, I had to give it ago. Zelda Sydney’s Wine World Colouring Book ticks all my boxes. The illustrations are so easy to colour, (the paper is great with artists and watercolour pencils), and each page is uniquely informative and creatively inspiring.
As Zelda says: “Wine pairs perfectly with meditative colouring. In fact, wine has been a part of human ritual throughout history. Our minds can wander along any of the wine world’s many paths. These illustrations touch on wine. history, geography, geology, and agriculture… all the things of our world.”
So, if you have that wine friend who is impossible to buy for, or you just a have a wine friend who you want to spoil, grab a copy of the Wine World Colouring Book (one for them and one for you of course), a box of coloured pencils, add a bottle of wine and enjoy…..
I am – thanks heaps Zelda and I’m looking forward to the next edition!!

Fun for adults and kids - but a real treat for wine geeks!
By Jonathan David Cook on 24 July 2016
I have little artistic talent but a deep interest in wine, so this is perfect for me - it had me wanting to grab a set of colouring pencils straight away. Specialist knowledge of wine isn't a requirement to enjoy the book, but it does help you to appreciate some of the careful thought that has gone into it. My favourite page has lots of different colours related to wine; there is text indicating *yellow* for Jura Vin Jaune and *green* for Vinho Verdi that the most casual wine drinker could follow, wine fans will delight in thinking of the history and cultural background of the wines!

This is a really fun book. I am not really into colouring but I am very much into most things related to wine so I thought it would be a nice addition to my wine books collection. The drawings are simple but actually make you think of all the stages of wine making and what to think of when wine-tasting. You know they are from someone who knows a lot about the topic. It also got me some brownie points with the children on a rainy holiday afternoon as it meant I could properly join in with the colouring ;-)

I love wine, and also I was very thrilled about colouring books, when I saw this book I decided it fit my liking. The style is very cute and from the beginning to the end is designed to increase your knowledge of wine and the process of making it.
A wonderful book created by a real wine lover and connoisseur.

This is my first adult coloring book. Not at all like a children's colouring book. It's smart, and creative and thoughtful. It gives you something to think about while you are colouring. There is no stress to be perfectly in the lines, just let yourself go! Anyone would love it!
